Robbert Fisher

Robbert is the managing director of JIIP. He is specialized in strategy and policy in the fields of R&D, technology transfer and innovation in general. From 1989 until 2000 he was a senior manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers. From 1991-1995 Robbert was seconded as an expert to the European Commission DG XIII (now DG CONNECT) in Luxembourg. Robbert received a Master’s degree Law, Leiden University, The Netherlands with special subjects Intellectual property, Information Systems and Business economics.  He holds degrees in marketing and public relations. In addition he is alumnus of the PwC International Management Development Programme, and has followed executive courses at Darden Business School.

Wolfgang Polt

Wolfgang Polt is the Head of the Centre of Economic and Innovation Research - POLICIES of Joanneum Research Ltd. and authorized representative of this organisation, which is one of the major public research organisations in Austria. He is an economist with long experience in innovation research and policy studies in science, technology and innovation policy. He has carried out evaluations of programmes, policies and institutions for DG Research, DG Enterprise and DG Information Society of the European Commission, and for institutions in countries like Austria, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan and Switzerland. As an expert, he has contributed to the recent country studies of the EU and the OECD on innovation policies in Estonia, Greece and Hungary. Most recently, he was the study director of a project analysing and comparing the research system of Germany.

Tom van der Horst,  Business Director Strategies for Industry & Innovation at TNO since 2012.

Tom studied Industrial Design at the Delft Universty of Technology from 1981 to 1987. In 1988 he joined TNO Industrial Technology (the former TNO Productcentre) and was head of department of product development  (1993-2001), founder of Kathalys, centre for sustainable product innovation TNO/DUT (1997-2001). At the same time he is co-manager of the TNO new initiative on Sustainable System innovation (1997-2001). He has built up specific experience in a wide scope of research projects and innovation projects in practice in close co-operation with multinationals and SME’s

Tom joined STB since February 2001 as senior researcher and since January 2002 as head of department of the team Sustainable Innovation. In the period 2004 – 2011 Tom was Manager of the Business Unit Innovation and Environment.

EVP, Strategy @ DIMECC Oy: Responsible for the novel innovation and joint digitalization strategies creation for the industry at DIMECC Oy.

CTO @ FIMECC Oy. FIMECC: Responsible for the FIMECC's strategic R&D portfolio operations as-well-as the related strategic research agenda creation. The volume of the portfolio is around 50 M€/ year, i.e. 10% of the Finnish metals and engineering R&D activities are done within FIMECC's ecosystem.

Manager, IT Strategy @ Accenture: Manager and IT strategy practice lead. Various leader and expert roles in strategy consulting assignment with a focus on clients' challenges in IT and business development.Holds a Dr.Sc degree in the areas of automation and control engineering. Has worked also as a researcher in the area of micro and nanotechnology (both in Finland and Japan).
